====== WoMoz Actions ====== **Want to help us and promote some of the WoMoz projects? Our current actions are listed here:** ===== Permanent projects ===== * Mentoring program ⇒ contributors can help interested people in their first contribution to WoMoz or Mozilla * Regular update of Wiki by WoMoz contributors, IRC channel exists to meet contributors, a [[http://www.womoz.org/blog/|blog]] (to be syndicated on [[http://planet.mozilla.org/|Planet Mozilla]]) and [[http://lists.womoz.org/mailman/listinfo/womoz|mailing list]] have been created, as well as a [[http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=187412440040&ref=search&sid=679920171.131298336..1|Facebook group]]. All this will help the project obtain a better visibility * Keep in contact with FLOSS communities (LUGs, "Agenda du Libre", AFUL, APRIL, geckozone, interlug, etc.) and regularly give them updates about the project: in order for them to communicate about the project in their communities * Posters and flyers for project will be available for download and distribution on wiki. * Continuous promotion of project (in magazines, feminine magazines, newspapers, etc.) * Talk about Womoz on [[http://planet.mozfr.org/|Mozilla's French Planet]] (where French community meets and keeps informed). In the same way, people interested in the project are encouraged to talk about WoMoz on their own blogs and amongst their own communities * Point out what women contributors in Open Source - and in Mozilla & WoMoz more in particular - have done and are currently doing: "I did it, you can too" ===== Punctual projects ===== * Conduct user surveys about "women in Open source" topic, make them visible throughout community * [[Survey]] 1: Nov. 09 * Give presentations and talks about the project, present WoMoz in FLOSS events * Interviews of women working in Open Source (written and video) to give more visibility to women's work and projects. Broadcast the videos as much as possible (Dailymotion, Youtube, blogs,...) * Create [[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox|Firefox Addons]] and extensions dedicated to feminine interests or that could encourage more women to browse the Web. Create themes, [[http://www.getpersonas.com/|Personas]], etc. * Define activities that don't exist yet and that could be interesting for women * Organize more events for the general public: promote the women's project in Universities, during Festivals, participating in roller events,... * Introduction classes and tutorials for programming. Propose and put up tutorials on the wiki / IRC * Find opportunities to collaborate with Mozilla developers * Code competitions * Fun video clips and posters * Possible slogans for the project: Girls in Touch, I tried shopping ... I prefer programming, "Il ne faut jurer de rien", Human being communicator, "Richard: marketing director, Samantha: Free Software Activist", etc. * Creation of Womoz tshirts : propose your slogans!
